Our Services

Three Pathways of Care

Each programme is shaped around what the watch actually needs — not a fixed menu applied without thought.

Standard mechanical service

Standard Service Programme

A complete overhaul for mechanical and automatic calibres. Full disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, inspection under magnification, lubrication, and regulated across positions on timing equipment.

  • Photographic intake documentation
  • Ultrasonic cleaning in horological solvents
  • Multi-day rate observation before return
  • Water resistance assessment included

Bracelet refinishing service

Bracelet Refinishing & Service

For steel, gold, and bi-metal bracelets showing wear — stretched links, tired clasps, dulled surfaces. Refinishing follows the original geometry with correct directionality on brushed zones.

  • Link tightening or replacement to preference
  • Clasp spring and mechanism service
  • Progressive abrasive polishing on polished zones
  • Pin and tube renewal during reassembly

Deep conservation service

Deep Conservation Service

For pieces stored without service for many years, vintage references with degraded lubrication, or recently acquired watches without documentation. Owner consulted at each major decision point.

  • Full movement overhaul with conservation priority
  • Gasket renewal and pressure testing
  • Photographic record of each major stage
  • Written condition report upon completion

Why Saujana Jam

Considered Work, at Each Stage

Several qualities set our workshop apart from general repair outlets — and matter more over the long term.

Intake Examination

Every watch is photographed and given a written condition assessment before any work begins. Nothing is assumed.

Timing Equipment

Rate regulation is performed on professional timing instruments, across multiple positions, with a multi-day observation period.

Horological-Grade Lubricants

Only purpose-formulated watch lubricants are used — applied at correct volumes to each contact surface, not generalised greases.

Owner Consultation

On conservation pieces, significant decisions are discussed with the owner before work proceeds. No surprises on collection.

Pressure Testing

Water resistance is assessed after gasket renewal. Cases are pressure tested to the manufacturer's stated rating where appropriate.

Documentation Record

Deep conservation work is accompanied by a photographic record and written condition report — a useful reference for the watch's history.

Questions

Frequently Asked

How do I know if my watch is due for a service?
Most mechanical watches benefit from a service every four to six years, though this depends on the calibre, how frequently it's worn, and conditions of use. Noticeable rate drift — gaining or losing significantly more than a few seconds per day — is a common indicator. So is a feeling of stiffness in the winding or setting action, or a crown that doesn't engage as it once did. If you're uncertain, bring the piece in and we'll take a look without any obligation.
How long does a standard service take?
A Standard Service Programme typically takes three to five weeks from intake to collection. The multi-day rate observation period after reassembly is part of this timeline — it is not a step we rush. Deep Conservation work runs considerably longer, often ten to sixteen weeks, depending on parts sourcing and the extent of attention required. We'll give you a more specific estimate once we've completed the intake examination.
Do you service any brand, or only certain manufacturers?
We work on a wide range of mechanical and automatic movements from Swiss, German, Japanese, and independent manufacturers. Complicated calibres — perpetual calendars, chronographs, tourbillons — are assessed individually. We'll be straightforward with you if a piece is better served elsewhere, rather than take on work we cannot carry out to the right standard.
What happens if parts need to be replaced?
We'll contact you before ordering or fitting any component that adds materially to the cost. Where period-correct or original parts are important to the owner — as they often are for vintage and collector pieces — we'll discuss sourcing options. We don't proceed with consequential changes without your knowledge.
Is the bracelet service available without a full movement service?
Yes. The Bracelet Refinishing & Service is offered as a standalone programme. If, during intake, we note that the movement would also benefit from attention, we'll mention it — but there's no obligation to proceed with more than you came in for.
How should I bring my watch in?
Walk-in visits are welcome during workshop hours. If you'd prefer to arrange a specific time, send us a message or call ahead. Please bring any original box, papers, or previous service records you have — they're useful context, though not essential. We'll go through the intake process with you when you arrive.
