Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between Saujana Jam and any person who submits an enquiry, delivers a watch for assessment, or engages our servicing work. Please read them before proceeding.

Last updated: 12 April 2025 Effective: 12 April 2025 Governed by: Laws of Malaysia

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:

  • "Saujana Jam", "we", "us", "our" — refers to Saujana Jam, operating from 18 Jalan SS 21/35, Damansara Utama, 47400 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
  • "Client", "you", "your" — any individual who submits an enquiry, delivers a watch for service, or otherwise engages us.
  • "Watch" or "Timepiece" — the item delivered by the Client to Saujana Jam for assessment or servicing.
  • "Service" — any watch servicing, repair, refinishing, assessment, or conservation work carried out by Saujana Jam.
  • "Agreement" — the understanding formed when a Client delivers a watch and Saujana Jam accepts it for assessment, supplemented by any written intake documentation.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting a contact form on this website, delivering a watch to our workshop, or engaging our services in any capacity, you confirm that you have read and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

These Terms apply to all clients regardless of age, provided the client is legally capable of entering a binding agreement under Malaysian law. Clients under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian present at intake and collection.

3. Services Offered

Saujana Jam offers the following principal servicing programmes:

  • Standard Service Programme (MYR 980) — full movement overhaul for mechanical and automatic calibres.
  • Bracelet Refinishing & Service (MYR 740) — bracelet assessment, link and clasp servicing, and surface refinishing.
  • Deep Conservation Service (MYR 2,200) — extended programme for watches requiring comprehensive overhaul and conservation attention.

All pricing is in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and inclusive of labour. Parts and components are quoted separately where required. We reserve the right to adjust pricing for unusually complex work, but only with the Client's prior written or verbal consent.

Services are carried out at our Damansara Utama workshop only. We do not carry out servicing off-site or via post.

4. Intake & Assessment

Before any service work begins, we conduct a documented intake examination. This includes photographic records, a written condition note, and any observations provided by the Client.

The intake examination is carried out at no charge and without obligation. A service recommendation will be provided following assessment. Work only proceeds with the Client's explicit agreement to the scope and price.

If, during the course of servicing, we discover that additional work or parts are required beyond the agreed scope, we will contact the Client before proceeding. We will not carry out un-agreed work or incur un-agreed costs on the Client's behalf.

5. Client Responsibilities

The Client agrees to:

  • Provide accurate information about the watch, including known faults, prior repairs, and any modifications made outside the manufacturer's original specification.
  • Confirm that they are the lawful owner of the watch, or have the authority to authorise service work on the owner's behalf.
  • Remain reachable during the service period and respond promptly to any consultation requests from our team.
  • Collect the watch within a reasonable time after notification that the service is complete. Watches not collected within 60 days of notification may attract a storage charge.

6. Pricing & Payment

All quoted prices are in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). Payment is due upon collection of the watch. We accept cash and major bank transfers. Credit card acceptance is subject to availability at the time of collection.

A deposit may be requested at intake for Deep Conservation Service engagements or where parts must be ordered in advance. Any deposit requested will be confirmed in writing before intake proceeds.

Invoices will be provided upon request. For Deep Conservation Service, an interim cost update will be provided if parts availability materially affects the total.

Prices do not include collection or delivery costs. No postal or courier arrangements are made by Saujana Jam on behalf of clients.

7. Service Timelines

Indicative timelines are provided at intake and are subject to workshop volume, the condition of the watch as discovered during servicing, and parts availability. We will communicate any material changes to the timeline promptly.

Typical timelines by service:

  • Standard Service Programme — approximately four to six weeks from intake.
  • Bracelet Refinishing & Service — approximately two to three weeks from intake.
  • Deep Conservation Service — ten to sixteen weeks from intake, depending on parts availability and conservation scope.

Saujana Jam does not accept liability for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including supplier lead times, parts unavailability, or unforeseen workshop conditions.

8. Parts & Materials

Where worn or failed components must be replaced, we use appropriate horological-grade parts. Our preference is for manufacturer-original or period-correct replacement components where these can be sourced at a reasonable lead time and cost.

For vintage references, where original parts are unavailable, we will discuss suitable alternatives with the Client before proceeding. No replacement parts will be fitted without the Client's informed consent.

Replaced components are returned to the Client upon request, where they are sufficiently intact to do so.

9. Collection & Storage

The Client will be notified by telephone or email when the watch is ready for collection. Collection is in person at our workshop during operating hours (Monday to Friday, 10:00 am – 6:30 pm; Saturday, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm).

Watches not collected within 60 calendar days of the collection notification date may attract a storage fee of MYR 15 per day, applied from the 61st day. We will provide a second notification reminder before this charge commences.

In exceptional circumstances where a watch is not collected within 180 days and all communication attempts have failed, we reserve the right to apply additional measures in accordance with Malaysian law.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, photography, layout, and service descriptions — is the intellectual property of Saujana Jam or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or republish any part of this website without our prior written consent.

Photographic records of service work taken by Saujana Jam remain our property and may be used for internal quality documentation. They will not be published externally or shared without the Client's consent.

11. Limitation of Liability

We take all reasonable care in handling and servicing watches in our custody. In the event of loss or damage caused directly by our negligence, our liability is limited to the fair market value of the watch at the time of intake, as agreed between the parties.

We accept no liability for pre-existing faults, latent defects, or deterioration attributable to the condition of the watch at the time of intake — all of which will be documented in the intake record.

Our liability does not extend to consequential, indirect, or special damages of any kind, including but not limited to sentimental value, loss of use, or any loss arising from timeline delays.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under Malaysian law.

12. Disclaimers

Watch servicing is a skilled technical discipline, and outcomes depend on the condition and history of each individual piece. We describe our approach and methods honestly, but we do not make specific claims about post-service performance, rate accuracy, or water resistance, as these depend on factors including component age and original manufacturing tolerances.

Any rate or performance observations communicated at collection reflect the watch's performance under workshop conditions and should not be interpreted as a promise of ongoing performance in all environments or under all usage conditions.

Website content, including service descriptions and indicative timelines, is provided for general informational purposes and does not constitute a binding offer until an intake examination has been conducted and a written or verbal service agreement has been reached.

13. Dispute Resolution

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

We encourage any concerns to be raised with us directly in the first instance. Please contact us at [email protected] and we will make every effort to address the matter fairly and promptly.

Where informal resolution is not achieved, the parties may refer the matter to a mutually agreed mediator before initiating court proceedings.

14. General Provisions

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with any intake documentation signed at the time of service, constitute the entire agreement between Saujana Jam and the Client regarding the service of any individual watch.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

Waiver. Failure by either party to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.

Assignment. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our obligations to a suitable successor entity.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Updates will be reflected by a revised "Last updated" date on this page. For Clients with active service engagements at the time of any change, the Terms in place at the time of intake will apply to that engagement.

Continued use of this website or delivery of watches for service following a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
